WHO THIS IS FOR: Recreational boaters wanting to expand their knowledge on river rescue and risk management.
ONLINE COMPONENT: Yes - Optional (but highly recommended)
COURSE FORMAT: 2 day REC-I course with 2 hours of online training prior to start date. 8 hours each day of in-field training. Total class length: 18hrs.

COURSE COSTS: $375 - Full payment is necessary at time of enrollment
PACKRAFT COURSE PREREQUISITES:
A desire to learn
Packraft, paddle, and all associated boating gear necessary to travel downstream
Proficient swimmer
Physically capable
All of the listed PPE
Meet all of the Essential Eligibility Criteria
Online Module: Yes
Minimum age: 16 with parental consent – 15 with a parent participating
2 DAY RECREATIONAL PADDLING CLINICS – BASIC AND ADVANCED
SSI commonly teaches non-certification packraft specifIc courses. These are typically for the wilderness enthusiast and packraft aficionados – in other words, for those who wish to advanced their basic paddling and self rescue understanding when it comes to downriver packraft travel, but don’t require certified training for employment. Those that are new to packrafting or wish to advance their skills in either a basic or advanced paddling capacity
Those seeking information on repair, packing, storing and basic care of packraft style craft
Any packraft student wishing to gain professional instruction from a qualified packraft instructor from the training institute that put packraft training on the map – SSI.
