In the nude via the waters of the PNW

There’s something very liberating about being in your most natural bare state while basking in nature. The sun rays hugging your entire body, the cool waters awakening your cells, the lightness you feel as your worries escape you. Here are a few tips and leads for your next nude adventures:

The key to to a pleasant experience and avoiding an “indecent exposure” ticket is to find discreet locations, secure your sanctuary early in the morning, or perhaps around dusk when a full moon is to be expected. Places that are not extremely accessible or that require a treck to get to can be ideal. If you’re not scouting out an intimate experience with nature and are looking for a shared celebratory experience consider some of these more established locations mentioned.

Mind. The next step is alter your experience. I personally feel the most treasured moments are often spontaneously fueled. The rush you feel summiting a mountain that catapults you into taking a glacier lake dip. That enabling friend who childishly taunts you with “you won’t” reverse psychology. Or simply feeling the urge to revert to our most natural state and honoring our bodies by engaging with nature and letting go. When you leave your clothing’s behind and jump into cool waters it can feel like you're disconnecting with society and the pressures that come with it. You’ve now reconnected with nature and are reborn and pure, so small and insignificant amongst the vast waters and towering trees.

Body. Teddy Bear Cove was Bellingham’s loved nudist beach for sometime until it came into new ownership and naturalists started getting ticketed. Now it’s said that the spot to be free is a bit south known as Dogfish Point. This privately owned spot is known to be a more safe spot to bare your soul and skin. So long as your act respectfully and as always never leave any trace of litter behind it is understood that you may find this spot to be your haven. Denny Blaine is Seattle’s most known nude beach along Lake Washington. You could also visit Howell Park, also along Lake Washington which is said to have more of a hip crowd (no pun intended). Both these places are easily accessible so expect more crowds in general.

Soul. If relaxing over riveting experiences are more your style consider a number of clothing optional hot springs to soak in. Olympic hot springs, Goldmyer, Umpqua are just a few hot springs that allow you to soak in the buff. Be sure research these locations ahead of time as some of these spots do require reservations. Now that you’re secured, enjoy the comforting warm waters as your whole body absorbs nourishing minerals and increases your oxygen and blood flow.
