Upper Skagit Fire Conditions

On August 22nd Triad River Tours' and our 9am Upper Skagit trip guests were evacuated from the National Park due to the Goodell Creek fire. We had checked with authorities the day before as well as that morning, but the final decision was made and we did our best to get out of there as quickly as possible. With everyone safely out of harms way the entire trip graciously decided to take a fun float down a different section of non-whitewater Skagit. It was amazing to see everyone so understanding and willing to move their plans due to such incredible circumstances.

At this time we are not accepting reservations for the Upper Skagit due to the fire, and also considering at this time it is illegal to do so because of the mandated evacuations put in place as of last weekend. We are, however, running the lower Skagit section and would really encourage anyone wanting to get out on the river to hit it up; it's a special part of the river, and it's a pretty great experience right now; not to mention it's helpful for us as well as a local economy that relies heavily on tourism dollars, suffering now in the midst of one of the worst fires in the history of Western Washington.
